How Auto-Debit Works
Auto-Debit School Fees — FAQ
How does UPI AutoPay work for school fee collection?
With FastFee, school sends a UPI AutoPay mandate link to each parent via WhatsApp. Parent opens the link in their UPI app (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), reviews the monthly fee amount, and authorizes with UPI PIN. From the next due date, fees auto-debit every month with no action needed from parents or school staff.
Can auto-debit cover transport and meal fees separately from tuition?
Yes. FastFee supports multiple fee heads — tuition, transport, meal, activity, lab fees. Each can have separate amounts and due dates. A parent whose child takes the school bus gets a combined auto-debit covering tuition + transport on the due date.
What happens if a parent's UPI AutoPay debit fails?
FastFee automatically sends a WhatsApp notification to the parent when an auto-debit fails. It then retries on the next working day. Repeated failures escalate to a reminder sequence. Staff can also log a Promise-to-Pay (PTP) when the parent commits to a specific payment date.
Does FastFee auto-debit work for all UPI apps?
Yes. The mandate works with all UPI apps — Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay, and all bank UPI apps. The parent uses whatever app they normally use.
Can auto-debit be set up for different fee amounts per class?
Yes. FastFee supports class-wise fee structures. Class 1 may have different tuition than Class 10. Each student's mandate is set at their class's specific fee amount. When fees change at the start of a new academic year, FastFee sends new mandate links to parents.
Does FastFee support auto-debit for quarterly or annual fee payment?
Yes. FastFee supports monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual payment schedules. For annual fee payment, the mandate is set for a larger amount once a year rather than monthly. School can offer parents the choice of frequency.
How much does FastFee charge per auto-debit transaction?
FastFee charges no percentage cut per transaction. Every rupee auto-debited goes directly to the school's account. FastFee charges a flat annual subscription. Compare this to platforms that charge 1-2% per transaction — on a 500-student school collecting ₹2,000/month per student, that is ₹2-4 lakh/year in transaction fees.
