What is the difference between a quotation and an estimate?

A quotation is usually a fixed price offer; an estimate is an approximate cost that can change. Both list items and terms and neither is a tax invoice. Change the title in the terms if you prefer “Estimate”.

Should a quotation include GST?

It is good practice to show the GST rate and amount so the customer knows the final payable. GST becomes payable only when you issue the tax invoice or receive payment.

How long should a quotation be valid?

Commonly 7 to 30 days, depending on how often your purchase prices change. Set it in the “Valid till” field.

Can I track which quotes converted?

Yes. Saved shows each quote with its status, and converted invoices show “from QTN/…” so you can see your win rate.

Is this tool free? Do I need to sign up?
