Where the savings really are
Daily medicines for blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid and cholesterol make up most of a familyโs pharmacy bill. Because they are taken every day for years, even a โน3 difference per tablet becomes โน1,000+ a year per medicine. That is why the monthly and yearly view matters more than the price of one strip.
Compare the same salt and the same strength only. Combination tablets may cost less than two separate tablets, or more. Never change dose or medicine on price alone; show the comparison to your doctor and ask for the generic name on the prescription.
Frequently asked questions
Are Jan Aushadhi generic medicines as good as branded?
Jan Aushadhi medicines are procured from WHO-GMP certified suppliers and each batch is tested at NABL-accredited labs, as per PMBI. They contain the same salt and strength. Always consult your doctor before switching.
Why compare price per tablet and not MRP?
Packs differ (10, 15 or 30 tablets), and discounts and delivery fees change the real price. Cost per tablet for the same salt and strength is the only fair comparison.
Where can I check official medicine prices?
Jan Aushadhi product prices are on janaushadhi.gov.in and the Jan Aushadhi Sugam app. Ceiling prices of scheduled formulations are on NPPAโs Pharma Sahi Daam app and website.
Does this tool have a price database?
No. Prices change often and vary by city, so you enter the prices you actually see. That keeps the comparison accurate for you. Links to official price search are given for each step.
Is this tool free? Do I need to log in?
Yes, it is completely free and works without login on any phone. Nothing you type is uploaded; it stays in your browser.
Is FastFee a government website?
No. FastFee is a private Indian fintech. These free tools summarise official rules and always link to the official government portal, where the final decision is made.
